Jammu, Nov 17: The holy shrine of Vaishno Devi and the famous hill resort of Patnitop in Jammu and Kashmir experienced the season's first snowfall overnight as rains lashed Jammu plummeting mercury. About six inches to one feet of snow accumulated on Trikuta Hills where Vaishno Devi shrine is located, officials said here today.
Patnitop was covered with one to two feet of snow. Upper reaches in Pir Panjal ranges also had snowfall which was still continuing.
Widespread showers lashed Jammu division dipping the temperature. The city recorded 20.9 mm of rain till 0830 hrs today.
