Hyderabad, Sept 16: Before Formula One cars come to India, F-1 boats will be in the country with Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu luring the F-1 power boat race circuit to Hyderabad.
The assurance to begin the event next year at the picturesque Hussain Sagar Lake here was given by Niclo di San Germano, promoter of F-1 power boat racing, during his meeting with Naidu at Milan, Italy yesterday.
The F-1 power boat racing company would sign a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the state government in this regard next month, a release from Chief Minister's office said.
Power boat racing is a popular sport in several countries such as Saudi Arabia, Yemen, Oman, UAE, Qatar, Bahrain, Kuwait, Lebanon, Syria, Jordan, Egypt, Malaysia, Brazil and France.

With this, the tourism industry in the city would get a big boost and the surroundings of the lake would be developed on par with international standards, the release said.

Naidu also visited the famous Duomo Cathedral at Milan and studied the conservation methods to protect the 400-year old monument.
