Thrissur, June 29: Kerala fisheries and tourism minister K V Thomas today said there was no need for him to resign on the basis of charges made in the disproportionate assets case. "I will not resign as prima facie nothing has been proved against me," Thomas, who is facing a vigilance inquiry in the case, told reporters here.

Stating that the allegations were "baseless", he said he would abide by the decision of the court and prove his innocence.

Referring to senior Congress leader K Karunakaran's remark that Thomas should resign, he said: "It is for the Chief Minister A K Antony to seek my resignation."
