Kanpur, Oct 11: VHP today criticised Uttar Pradesh BJP chief Vinay Katiyar for his statement that Ram temple issue was on the agenda of the saffron party outside Parliament and not inside the House.
"Such leaders have no right to join VHP programmes," its international president Ashok Singhal told reporters here.
"Even Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee is not taking up the Ayodhya issue seriously," he said in reply to a query.
Singhal warned of "sharp reactions" if the administration tried to "crush" the Ram bhakts during the VHP`s Ayodhya march on October 17.
"The VHP`s programme will be held peacefully. There is no threat to `Ram lala` from Hindu Ram bhakts. They are fully competent for the security of the Rama lala temple," he said.
"The only threat is from Islamic fundamentalists. There should not be a repeat of Godhra. The government also should look into the matter," the VHP chief said.
Singhal made a scathing attack on political parties and said no political party was even prepared to check "Muslim fundamentalism in their own party."
The VHP has sent a letter to the railways for making proper arrangements for Ram bhakts and provide more coaches in the trains to Ayodhya for them.
An estimated five lakh devotees are expected to reach Ayodhya to participate in the VHP programe.
