Jammu, June 16: Pakistani troops resorted to heavy mortar shelling in forward defence locations and civilian areas along line of control in Bhawani-Noushera sub-sector of Rajouri-Poonch sector in Jammu and Kashmir today, official sources said here today. Pakistani troops fired 70 to 80 mortar shells intermittently in Bhawani, Jangard, Makri, Laam and Noushera areas since 1100 hours, the sources said.

However, there were no casualty, the sources said adding Indian troops also retaliated and the exchange was still going on.

Heavy Pakistani firing was also reported in the evening, they said.
