The Film
Chori Chori... is being directed by the hugely successful directorial pair of Abbas-Mustan. The two have a reputation of making exciting films like Khiladi, Baazigar, Daraar and Soldier. Their latest film Chori Chori Chupke Chupke is, however, cast in a different mould. Chori Chori Chupke Chupke has a little bit of everything for everyone.
The story revolves around three character Raj, Priya & Madhoo. It is a love story of three people.
Salman Khan plays Raj Malhotra, the scion of a rich industrialist family, who is adored by all his near and dear ones Rani Mukherjee. plays Priya. Though she comes from an extremely rich family, she is very sweet natured and adjusting. Preity Zinta is a bar dancer, her mind is full of money. Salman Khan is married to Rani Mukherjee. They are left a will which states that unless the couple has a baby, they can`t claim the property. But they find out that Rani can`t conceive. That`s when Salman Khan decides to ask Madhoo to be the surrogate mother. Preity agrees to bear a child to the Salman-Rani couple, of course for a payment. But as usual the maternal instincts take over and Preity wants to grab the husband too. She hatches a plot to get rid of Rani Mukherjee. So the second half of the film promises to be pure family drama.
Amrish Puri plays the role of Raj`s grandfather. He is like God for Raj. Dilip Tahil is Raj`s father but behaves more like his friend.Farida Jalal is Raj`s most loving mother.
The plot gives ample scope for the main characters. One might recall a film starring Sharmila as a childless housewife, who hires Shabana Azmi, a sex worker, in Doosri Dulhan to get her a baby from her husband. But to her horror, finds the husband veering towards the mother of his child. That film had great acting.

The title song is followed by, "Dekhne Walon Ne", sung by Alka Yagnik and Udit Narayan resembles some of the tunes from Anu Malik´s Khuddar soundtrack. But, this is Anu Malik we are talking about. At least, this time, they are his. Music ends up being a mixed bag - some nice love songs, some nice wedding songs.
