Jammu, Jan 19: The Jammu and Kashmir democratic freedom party has invited representatives of the Kashmiri Pandit community to discuss measures to facilitate the latter's "honourable return to their native places", the Kashmiri Pandit Sabha here said today. The invitation was extended at a meeting of the representatives of some migrant camps and the Kashmiri Pandit Sabha in Jammu with the functionaries of JKDF here last evening, Sabha president T N Khosa said.
Describing the meeting as a historical one, head of JKDF Syed Saleem Geelani said both the sides agreed to move forward in creating conditions for the return of displaced Pandits and also to defeat the vested elements who would try to thwart this process.
The Sabha with the migrant representatives of camps and non-camps would shortly formulate a programme for sending delegations to Kashmir valley with the objective of interacting with prominent citizens in different districts of the valley so as to develop confidence building measures on the issue of return of the community, Khosa said.
