Trinamool Congress has snapped its electoral tie-up with BJP in West Bengal after withdrawing support to the NDA government at the Centre. The party will hold an emergency meeting at Kolkata today to chalk out the future course of action. Our electoral tie-up with BJP will no more exist and the decision on seat adjustments with that party for the ensuing assembly elections will stand cancelled, Trinamool Congress policy-making body chairman Pankaj Banerjee said. Banerjee said the party would hold an emergency meeting in Kolkata today with the arrival of the party chief Mamata Banerjee from Delhi when we will chalk out our future course of action. To a question, he said, the Trinamool Congress might take a 'fresh look' at the number of seats it would contest and a decision to that effect would be taken today.
The Congress has also said that it will reassess the situation and may now be open to the idea of Mahajot. Bureau Report
