New Delhi, June 30: Describing India's performance in recent times as "very encouraging", Indian Hockey Federation president K P S Gill today said the win in the four-nation hockey tournament in Hamburg has proved that the team was on the right track.
"It has been a very good and encouraging performance by the team. It shows that the team is on the right track," Gill told a news agency here.
"The team has been gelling well and the results are showing. We have to maintain this upward trend," he said.
The IHF supremo said that the victories in Sydney and Hamburg will serve as a moral-booster for the team ahead of the prestigious champions trophy to be held in Amstelveen, Holland, in August. "These victories will certainly help. I am quite confident that we will do well in the champions trophy also," he said.
Asked whether the team would continue to experiment to find the right combination ahead of the Athens Olympics, Gill said, "There will be no more experiments. This will be more or less the team."
Gill said that the team will undergo a conditioning camp in New Delhi for the champions trophy. "I will discuss with the Coach (Rajinder Singh) before finalising the dates of the camp." Bureau Report
