Raipur, July 19: Criticising VHP for attacks on the government that vitiated the atmosphere, Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee today asserted that the ruling coalition would continue the path of dialogue to resolve the Ayodhya dispute and ruled out keeping VHP out in any solution. Defending BJP's resolution on Ayodhya at its national executive here, Vajpayee favoured construction of Ram Temple at the birthplace of Lord Rama.
It was the desire of the BJP to find an amicable solution to the issue through goodwill, he said, adding, "Dialogue is the most important way to resolve the issue and we will continue to pursue this path."
"Nobody is in favour of finding a solution ignoring Vishwa Hindu Parishad," the Prime Minister said.
Maintaining that there might be differences, he decried unnecessary recriminations. "We always welcome positive criticism but unnecessary allegations vitiate the atmosphere."
"Whatever we think is right, we will continue to do that and we will not backtrack," vajpayee added.
On the issue of reservation for women in Lok Sabha and state assemblies, he said his government would make all efforts to get it through in the monsoon session of Parliament beginning Monday.
"Government has always been in its favour and BJP has been serious about it," he said.
"Because of political motives, attempts are being made to put us in the dock which we will not allow to succeed," the Prime Minister said. Bureau Report
