Pune, Sept 08: Eminent cartoonist R K Laxman, who was admitted to Poona hospital following a paralytic stroke, was today shifted to Mumbai to be admitted to Breach Candy Hospital.
Dr Sudhir Kothari, attending on the cartoonist here, told A news agency that Laxman's condition was 'slightly' better.
Laxman preferred to go to Mumbai as his son was employed there and the hospital was close to his house, Kothari said. Laxman has been taken to Mumbai in an ambulance. "Besides the treatment, he will need physiotherapy as his left side is still very weak" the doctor said.
His blood pressure is normal and his renal problem is better and he is taking normal food, Kothari said.

The cartoonist had suffered a paralytic stroke recently following which he was admitted to the hospital. On September 4 last, Vice-President Bhairon Singh Shekawat who was here to attend the Pune festival, visited Laxman in the hospital and enquired about his health.
