New Delhi, July 26: A Delhi court today reserved its order on CBI plea for summoning certain additional witnesses including the wife and children of some of the accused in the Uphaar fire tragedy case.
Additonal Sessions Judge Mamta Sehgal reserved her order till July 28 after the defence counsel opposed the plea saying the application was meant only to humiliate family members of the accused.
The CBI had sought summoning of eight additional witnesses including accused Sushil Ansal's wife Kusum and his son Pranav saying that they were necessary to prove some of the records which had come in evidence.
However, the application was opposed by Sushil Ansal, who termed it as an attempt to humiliate his family members.
It would also be an encroachment on their fundamental rights if there was no compelling reasons to summon them, he said.
