Jaipur, Dec 08: Vasundhara Raje, who was sworn in as the first woman chief minister of Rajasthan, today promised to provide a corruption-free administration and ensure "full participation of people in governance".
"We have assumed the office not to rule, but to serve the people," she said in her address to a massive gathering immediately after the swearing-in ceremony. Assuring people, who gave a massive victory for her party, that she meant business, Raje recited a couplet "sirf hangama karna mera maqsad nahin/meri koshish hai ab yah soorat badalani chahiye (my aim is not to make only hue and cry, my effort is to change the face of the things)".
"We shall try to make society free of fear and administration corruption free. Considering every community as member of a big family, our government will try to take every one on the path of prosperity by bonding them," she said.
"People have given us a chance to wipe out tears from the face of the poor, stop atrocities on dalits and women and make future of youth bright and we shall make all out efforts to do this with the help of people," Raje added.
