Sydney, Aug 11: Cricket Australia chief executive officer James Sutherland has refrained from commenting on the latest allegations against Shane Warne and said the matter ''rests between the individuals involved.''
''I believe that at this stage the issues raised by allegations against Shane Warne in the South African newspaper, the Sunday Times yesterday, rests between the individuals involved,'' a Cricket Australia (CA) statement quoted him as saying.
''Cricket Australia is aware that international cricketers attract more public and media scrutiny than private individuals.
''There are obligations and standards incumbent on players, but there is also a boundary between their public lives and their lives as private citizens,'' he said.
The Sunday Times yesterday reported of a South African woman Helen Cohen Alon accusing the bowler of making lewd calls and sending dirty messages to her.

The 45-year-old divorcee and a mother of three, claimed Warne called her up ''40 times'' saying he ''wanted me'' and even sent text messages telling her he was lying in bed next to his wife Simone but thinking ''naughty thoughts about me''.

Warne refused respond to the charges made but his manager and brother Jason issued a statement denying the allegations.

''We regard the allegations of the South African woman as a personal issue between Shane, Simone and the relevant parties,'' the statement released here.

''This appears to be a blatant attempt by a person attempting to set up someone for personal gain, whether that be monetary or notoriety, and we will consult our legal people in this regard,'' it added.
