Bangalore, Sept 10: India and Israel will jointly hold two workshops in the country shortly on border surveillance and checking infiltration as a follow up to a similar exercise on suicide bombing undertaken in Israel a few months ago, Deputy Prime Minister L K Advani said today.
"Only a couple of months back, Israel had organised a workshop on suicide bombing in which our representatives from the Defence Ministry and Home Ministry participated...Now
progressing as a follow up, two different workshops will be held in India on border security, checking infiltration...and associated matters where Israeli security personnel will be
there," Advani told reporters here.
Terming the visit by Israeli Prime Minister Ariel Sharon as "very successful", Advani said the discussions held with Sharon yesterday centred on "terrorism". "On the whole, it is a very successful visit. He (Sharon) had to cut short the visit because of the incident in Israel. .. The kind of terrorism in which both the countries are fighting against and cooperation between the two countries is a natural development," he said.
