London, Mar 11: Vetoing a new UN resolution on Iraq would let its leader Saddam Hussein "off the hook," British Prime Minister Tony Blair said today in a warning to France and Russia. "If countries talk about using a veto in all sets of circumstances, the message that sends to Saddam is, 'you're off the hook'," said Blair after talks with Portugal's Prime Minister Jose Manuel Durao Barroso.
Blair vowed to work "night and day" to find a consensus between UN Security Council members on a new Iraq resolution, even though Paris and Moscow have declared they would veto any motion authorising the automatic use of force.
