New Delhi: A 45-year-old male elephant which was stranded in a dam for more than 50 days was finally rescued by authorities on Friday.


While travelling through a migratory path, the tusker fractured its right leg and was stranded in the dam with a broken leg.


The animal had to spent much of its time floating around the dam, which is around 35 km from Bengaluru.


Veterinarians have been called from different states of the country to treat the injured animal and the experts are looking after the 'poor elephant'.
