The attack took place on Monday, August 1, when both the parents Rachel and Steve were away from the nest, leaving the three vulnerable chicks home alone.

The footage shows the eagle swoops in on the trio of chicks, hauling off one while another flees the treetop nest on Hog Island, and a third chick crouched flat and avoided capture.
