Former Haryana Minister dead
Former Haryana Irrigation and Power Minister and senior Congress leader Varinder Singh died of a heart attack in Hissar on Tuesday morning. He was 65.
Former Haryana Irrigation and Power Minister and senior Congress leader Varinder Singh died of a heart attack in Hissar on Tuesday morning. He was 65.
Mr. Singh was rushed to a private hospital here after he complained of chest pain. But, he was declared dead at the hospital.
Mr. Singh represented the Narnaund assembly constituency of the state as many as four times, 1982, 1987 and 1991.
He was first elected to the Haryana Assembly in 1977 on a Janata Party ticket and was inducted into the Devi Lal Government as Irrigation and Power Minister.
He left the Lok Dal headed by Mr. Devi Lal in 1995 and joined Congress. Mr. Singh leaves behind his widow, two daughters and a son. Bureau Report
