At least 12 LTTE rebels were killed in different encounters with the Sri Lankan Army in Northern Jaffna peninsula, an official release said in Colombo on Monday. It said that eight Tamil Tigers were killed in two different incidents on Sunday at Ariyalai and Nunavail where troops attacked rebel positions. Four more guerrillas were killed in separate incidents in the peninsula on Sunday. In another incident, police recovered two-and-a-half kg time bomb on a tip-off provided by a suspect in eastern Amparai district, it said. Bureau Report
