Six barracks and two sentry post towers of the village volunteer force were set ablaze by armed militants on Thursday evening at Serou Lamkhai in Thoubal district of Manipur, official source said in Imphal.
About 15 unarmed BSF personnel were on guard when the militants raided the post and set fire to two sentry post towers and six barracks, the sources said.

Two sentry post towers were destroyed while six barracks were partly damaged, they said.
In another incident in the same district, a 16-year-old boy, a hardcore activist of the Revolutionary People's Front, was critically injured in an encounter with Assam Rifles personnel at Sora village in the wee hours on Thursday, an Assam Rifles release said on Friday.

The boy fired at the Assam rifles personnel, who were conducting a search operation at the village, forcing them to retaliate injuring the boy, the release said.

"One pistol with four live rounds were recovered from his possession," it added. Bureau Report
