West Bengal Chief Minister Buddhadeb Bhattacharjee on Saturday alleged Trinamool Congress had only one programme of creating violence by killing common people and police and it was also guilty of encouraging communal forces in the state.
The party had only one-point agenda and that was to unleash violence by killing ordinary people and police, the chief minister told a public meeting in West Bengal.
Recently when Garbeta and Keshpur areas in troubled Midnapore district were becoming peaceful and people returning homes, the TC encouraged violence, Bhattacharjee alleged.
It was ``shameful`` that the TC had allied with the BJP and helped the party to get root in West Bengal which was proud of its secular character.
Referring to the Babri Mosque demolition, he also alleged the BJP had destroyed the secular fabric of the country.
Criticising the BJP`s economic policy, he said rice was being imported from Thailand while the farmers in the country were not getting their actual price.
The country`s economy had been badly affected by the Centre`s ``anti-people`` economic policies including disinvestment of public sector banks and allowing foreign insurance companies in the country.
