Narmada dam development plan approved
An action plan to complete the Narmada dam in stages by June 2005 was approved on Thursday by the review committee of Narmada Control Authority (NCA).

The committee, which held its eighth meeting under the chairmanship of union minister of water resources, Arjun Charan Sethi, adopted the plan which ensures implementation of rehabilitation and resettlement, an official release said.
The meeting, held for the first time after the Supreme Court judgement on October 18, 2000, in the writ petition filed against Sardar Sarovar Project, was attended by chief ministers of Madhya Pradesh and Gujarat, Digvijay Singh and Keshu Bhai Patel respectively and Maharashtra irrigation minister Bala Saheb Thorat.
Madhya Pradesh deputy chief minister Subhash Yadav and Union environment minister T R Baalu were also present.
The meeting agreed that all efforts would be made to address various issues satisfactorily so that the action plan was implemented properly.
