Pakistan-based Hizbul Mujahideen chief Syed Salahuddin has said it would reciprocate Indian government's Ramzan ceasefire only if New Delhi showed its sincerity to the initiative by agreeing to tripartite talks involving Pakistan. He also asserted that no settlement could be reached on the Kashmir issue without involving Hizbul Mujahideen. "Any solution to Kashmir problem minus Hizbul Mujahideen is impossible. If it occurs who can implement it," Salahuddin told Karachi-based Wajood weekly magazine. He said if New Delhi "has any sincerity in finding solution to the Kashmir question, it should give consent in favour of trilateral talks."
"With this it (New Delhi) should also call back its troops and set free all the detainees. Only in such a state of affairs we can contemplate on reciprocating the ceasefire," the Hizb supreme commander said. Till then, the Hizb will respond to the ceasefire with escalated activities, Salahuddin warned. He said "We are monitoring the developments in Kashmir and we are in constant touch" with militants there.
