For the beautiful decoration of your abode this Christmas we have some basic tips and crafts that would not only make your festival very special but would also come light on your pockets! Cone Table Santa

What You Need:

  • Red poster paint and a paintbrush

  • Red and white pipe cleaners

  • Green ribbon, 1/4 inch wide two wiggle eyes

  • White craft glue
  • Red, green and pink construction paper

  • Scissors

  • Fiberfill

  • Small red pom-pom

  • Newspaper to work on

  • What you do:

  • Paint the entire outside of the party hat red.

  • Cut a 2 1/2 inch (6-cm) circle from the pink paper for a face. Glue the face about 2 inches (5cm) down from the point of the hat.

  • Glue a band of fiberfill all the way around the hat just above the face to form the base of the Santa hat. Glue a ball of fiberfill at the point of the hat.

  • Glue fiberfill on both sides of the face for hair and along the bottom of the face for a beard.

  • Glue the two wiggle eyes on the face below the hat. Glue on the red pom-pom for a nose.

  • Glue the two ends of a strip of ribbon around the Santa for a belt.
  • Cut two arms from the red paper and two mittens from the green paper. Glue a mitten on the end of each arm and glue an arm on each side of the Santa. Glue fiberfill across the cuff of each arm to look like fur.

  • Twist two 2 1/2 inch (6 cm) pieces of pipe cleaner, one red and one white, together to make a candy cane. Fold the mitten of one hand around the candy cane and glue it in place to look like Santa is holding the candy.
  • Bottle Cap Ornaments

Need an ornament in a hurry?
    Try this one!
    What you need:

  • Plastic bottle cap, green if possible

  • Large size bubble wrap

  • Sequins or glitter

  • White glue

  • Scissors

  • What you do:

  • Cut an 8-inch piece of ribbon. Rub glue around the outside of the bottle cap. Tie the ribbon around the bottle cap, then tie the ends together to make a hanger for the cap.

  • Rub glue over the inside back of the cap. Sprinkle the glue with sequins or glitter.

  • Cut one bubble from the bubble wrap. Rub glue around the inside edges of the cap and slide the bubble wrap into the cap over the sequins.

  • You might want to try decorating the inside of the cap with a little picture or sticker star with glitter around it.
  • A CRAYON JAR

    What you do:

  • Choose two or three different crayons into small pieces. If you use a large jar, you will need more crayons than if yur jar is small. (Three crayons will cover a baby food jar.)

  • Tear off a square piece of aluminum foil. Place the foil outside in hot direct sunlight. Sprinkle the crayons on the foil.

  • The crayons will melt quickly, so be ready with your jar. Do not wait until the crayons are completely melted or they will blend together to make a muddy color.

  • When they have melted, but still have some lumps in them, roll the jar around in the melted crayons to coat it. When you are happy with the design on the jar, take it to a cool place. The crayon will harden and set almost immediately.
  • Tie a bow around the neck of the jar.
  • CHRISTMAS TREE

    What you need:

  • Roll of solid green foil wrapping paper

  • Roll of wrapping paper with toys or ornaments on it

  • Poster Board - full sheet (1 3/4` x 2 1/4`)

  • Brown construction paper

  • Small piece of Gold foil wrapping paper

  • Glue (tacky or Elmer`s)

  • What you do:

  • Cut the poster board into a large triangle. Parts cut off can be taped together to make a 2nd tree.

  • Cut brown construction paper for the trunk. Glue to base of triangle. I attached it to the back side.

  • Unroll the green wrapping paper face down. Use your and everyone else`s hands. Trace around all hands. Be sure to spread your fingers apart alittle and use both hands. Cut out the hands a row at a time.

  • Glue the hands, starting at the bottom of the tree. Glue fingers down. (The pinkey side goes well on the edges.) Don`t overlap, just put close together. The next row over laps the first a little bit (Like shingles on a roof). Cover the posterboard like this all the way to the top. If you have little bits of posterboard peeking thru, use your scrap pieces to fill in.

  • Next cut a star from shirt board/poster board. Cover with the gold foil paper. Glue to top of tree.

  • Take the paper with toys/ornaments and cut the whole items from the paper. I only used about 2 full rows of items down the length of the roll. Glue these on the tree.

  • Now you have a fully decorated tree!
