Night curfew has been clamped in Assam's border districts of Karbi Anglong and Tinsukia from Wednesday to prevent movement of militants from Nagaland and Arunachal Pradesh, official sources said in New Delhi on Wednesday. District Magistrate of Karbi Anglong Md Alauddin issued orders under Section 144 prohibiting movement of any person from dusk to dawn within five km inside the district along the Assam-Nagaland border, the sources said. In another order issued, Tinsukia District Magistrate Samir Sinha has imposed night curfew from 4:30 pm to 6 am within five-km belt of Assam-Arunachal Pradesh border within the district. "The police, army, para-military forces, public servants on duty and the road linking state capitals are exempted from the purview of the order," the sources added. Bureau Report
