Demanding a marketing-oriented financial assistance for Small Scale Industries (SSI), PHD Chamber of Commerce and Industry (PHDCCI) has asked banks to act as consultants in formulating strategic marketing plans. Banks' factoring services, a continuing relationship between a financial institution and a business concern, should be given priority and small entrepreneurs should be trained in all aspects including the marketing management, a PHDCCI release said in New Delhi. It suggested that assistance should be provided to the small enterprises in the area of marketing and other related services through a consortium approach.

Assistance was required in the areas of dissemination of requisite information on demand pattern, projections on future trends on all relevant matters of marketing and in organising trade fairs and exhibitions, it said. The banks should finance activities for advertisement or promotion of products or setting up of regional marketing offices, the release said. Bureau Report
