Eight persons impersonating as Income-Tax officials on Monday looted Rs 60.09 lakhs from a leading diamond merchant at his office at opera house in south Mumbai. The accused barged into the office of the diamond merchant and introduced themselves as I-T officials, police said.

They threatened the trader with a revolver and escaped with polished diamonds, mobile phone, gold ring and wristwatch, collectively worth around Rs 60 lakhs, police added. Bureau Report
