Though the controversial Women’s Reservation Bill figures in the business list of Lok Sabha this week, the government does not expect it to be passed. As a strategy it will be brought up on Thursday, a day before the session ends. A senior Cabinet member today said that the only this issue could be resolved was to adopt the Election Commission’s suggestion. The commission had recommended that political parties should provide 33 percent reservation for women in their respective parties.
