Police on Saturday stepped up efforts to unravel underworld nexus with the film industry by intensively grilling leading star, Salman Khan, director duo Abbas-Mastan and film financier, Bharat Shah following the arrest of producer Nasim Rizvi for his alleged links with underworld don Chhota Shakeel. Police summoned the film personalities involved in the making of the controversial movie "Chori Chori Chupke Chupke", whose negatives have been seized by police after the producer was remanded to police custody till December 27 by a special court in Mumbai. Salman was interrogated for nearly six hours by crime branch sleuths. Dressed in a blue denim jacket and sporting dark glasses and a gelled hairdo, the actor made a dramatic entry into the crime branch premises at around noon with his olive green BMW whizzing past the battery of cameramen, leading to a verbal dispute between photographers, television crew and the star`s driver. After the grilling, he made a hurried exit through a narrow alley. Bharat Shah was interrogated for over two hours for the second consecutive day by the sleuths of the crime branch. Shah told reporters that he had been asked to submit the accounts of the film. He also denied any links with the underworld. "Mein Shakeel ko nahi janta hoon or woh mujhe nahin janta hai", the visibly annoyed Shah told mediapersons. Bureau Report
