The last time the team of Dhai Akshar Prem Ke came to the captial for the promotion of the film, the Bachchan family including Big B, Jaya and Shweta with the Nanda family graced the occasion.


The premiere of the film held on Thursday was however a different ball game all together. It seemed that the Bachchan parivar wanted Abhishek Bachchan to be in the limelight rather than the Big B. So Big B who was in the capital stayed away from the premiere as well as the post-show party, while mother Jaya Bachchan made a brief appearance at the dinner hosted at Hyatt with Amar Singh. Unlike Abhishek Bachchan who came to the capital by the early morning flight on Thursday, Aishwarya Rai came in only by the six-o clock flight in the evening. With Abhishek and Ash were director producer Raj Kanwar, K Papu, Amrish Puri, Sameer, Jatin Lalit and Shakti Kapoor.

Tepid audience response
The response of the audience is in direct proportion to how much it is enjoying the film. And going by how the cine audience greeted the stars at the premiere, it looked as if they did not like the film much. It was only when the singers Sanjay Raina and Shibani Kashyab egged on the audience that they started to clap. Even the response to Ash’s ‘hi’ was greeted without enthusiasm.
Delhi, in the past two months, has seen a series of film premieres from Deewane and Jungle to Hamara Dil Aap Ke Paas Hai to Dhai Akshar Prem Ke.
While the premiere of Humara Dil Aap Ke Paas took the cake for the magnitude of the show (the premiere was held at four theatres simultaneously), Jungle was the film that created the maximum buzz. Dhai Akshar barely managed to get the ‘houseful’ board dangling at the two theatres where the film was premiered.
Guests of honour ‘disappear’ As is the sorry tale of most of the film premiere post-show parties, the cast preferred to put in an appearance for a few minutes and then retire to their room though the dinner is suppose to be hosted in their honour!
The post show party of Dhai Akshar followed this pattern. Ash came and left and so did Abhishek. It was left to Raj Kanwar and Shakti Kapoor to entertain the guests. Bureau Report
