CPI-M politburo member Sitaram Yechuri on Thursday warned that people will give a befitting reply if Centre takes any step to impose President's rule in West Bengal before the coming Assembly elections.
Claiming that the law and order in the state is much better than Gujarat, Uttar Pradesh and Jammu and Kashmir, the CPI-M leader asked the Centre to refer to home ministry's annual report, which had placed West Bengal much below in the chart of violence-prone states, before taking any decision on Article 356.
Talking to reporters in West Bengal's Midnapore district, Yechury alleged that the Trinamool Congress had joined hands with the People's War Group(PWG) which has extended its 'tentacles' in the state after the Bihar government had banned it.

Referring to the recent incident at Chotto Angra, where the TC workers had been allegedly killed by the CPI-M, Yechury said investigations are on and the truth will come out.
“A demonstration would be held on January 24 to protest malicious propaganda against the CPI-M by some political parties,” Yechuri. Bureau Report
