Indian Red Cross Society (IRCS) is building nine school-cum-shelters in cyclone-hit areas of coastal Orissa.

Of these, one has already been completed and construction of others is being geared up, the Red Cross society said in a release in new Delhi. Red cross, which undertook an elaborate rehabilitation programme after the killer cyclone of October 1999, has also distributed 1000 agriculture kits, constructed 135 tube wells besides distributing study materials and medicines to the affected people.
