2017 FIFA U-17 World Cup: Brazil vs Mail, England vs Spain - As it happened...
Also, it`s a sweet revenge for England. They lost to Spain in the U-17 European Championship, earlier this year.
22:30 pm: England's come-from-behind win will be one of the most talked about stories for some time. They were 0-2 down, then won the match 5-2. Pretty commendable. With that, that have now done a FIFA double in the same year, having won the FIFA U-20 World Cup in June, a feat previously achieved only by Brazil. (Match report)
Also, it's a sweet revenge for England. They lost to Spain in the U-17 European Championship, earlier this year. Besides, the Young Lions have given a 66,000-plus Kolkata crowd a football night to remember. A World Cup final worthy of all the attention and celebrations.
22:06 pm: After a panicky start, England found themselves trailing by two goals to nil to Spain in the replay of their European Championship final with Sergio Gomez scoring a brace.
Then England changed the course of the match, pumping goals after goals in front of Salt Lake crowd. Yes, it all started with Brewster header in the 44th minute.
Gibbs-White (58'), Foden (69', 88'), Guehi (84) scored for the winners.
All in all, England enjoyed 52% possession with 25 attempts on the goal. 11 of those attempts hit the target, as against five for Spain. The European champions tried 11 attempts.
FULL-TIME: England 5-2 Spain
Second-half: England 5 - 2 Spain
21:55 pm: England are the new U-17 World champions. They destroyed European champions in the Kolkata final. Brazil are the only other team to win both U-17 and U-20 in the same year.
21:54 pm: Unruly scenes. Brewster booked. Then, after the restart, opposing players indulge in unsportsmanship behaviour. Pushing and shoving. Four minutes added.
21:50 pm: Then, Foden makes it five for England as the Kolkata witnesses birth of a star. What a run from the City, before killing it with a cool finish. In June, England won the U-20 World Cup, and now they have the U-17 title too.
21:48 pm: Spain bring in their lucky charm Nacho Diaz, who scored the equaliser in the European championship to force the shootout early this year against England. Off is Mocha.
21:46 pm: Mateo Jaume, you are lucky. It's RED CARD. But referee gets sympathetic and shown him a yellow for his foul on a rampaging Hudson-Odoi. From the free-kick, Marc Guehi scores the fourth goal for England with five minutes remaining. GOAL.
21:43 pm: First change for England. Kirby coming on for Gibbs-White. Second for Spain, Beitia on for Blanco.
21:41 pm: 10 minutes left in the match, and Spain are happy rolling the ball around. Then, England win the ball back, but Spain wrest back the initiative with adventurous Morey Bauza going solo with a brilliant run. His attempt just misses the target.
21:38 pm: Two-minute COOLING BREAK.
21:37 pm: England mount another attack, thanks to a quick counter. Win a corner, even as Hudson-Odoi asks England fans to cheer for the team.
21:35 pm: First SUB of the match. Sevilla starlet Jose Lara on for Gelabert Pina. Then, in the 73rd minute, Sessegnon cleared the ball from goal-line to deny Spain the equalier.
21:31 pm: City youngster Phil Foden scores to give England the lead for the first time in the final. GOAL in the 69th minute. Hudson-Odoi toys with Spain defence with his raw pace, then releases a pin-point minus and Foden slots home.
21:29 pm: Corner for Spain. Gomez's delivery from the near corner results in another flag-kick. It's followed by a clearance.
21:27 pm: A little good period of play for Spain, but England, on counter, have a go at Spain goal. With 25 minutes left in the match, goal-kick for England. Panzo desperately defends a long ball with Spain pressing hard. Goal kick to England, and Spain camp is furious. Referee leaves the play and attends to Spain coach, asks him the cooldown.
21:25 pm: First BOOKING of the match, to Miranda. The Spaniard right back was all over Sessegnon.
21:23 pm: Spain almost regain the lead from the restart. But an alert England keeper produces a save to keep the scoreline 2-2 in Kolkata. Then, Foden takes a left-footed volley from the edge of the box, which was saved by a diving Spain goalie. Little less than half-an-hour play left in the final.
21:19 pm: GOAL for England. It's 2-2 in the 58th minute. Gibbs-White slots home the equalizer from a Sessegnon minus from the right flank. What a finish. Second goal for the Wolverhampton Wanderers youngster.
21:17 pm: England continue to look for that elusive equaliser, pressing hard to win the second balls. But Spain defence is performing like a well-oiled machine. Then, from a goal-kick, goal-scorer Gomez fends off a body challenge inside the England half, before releasing the ball. England win the ball from the following play. We are into the 55th minute.
21:14 pm: Gibbs-White gets a pin-point long ball from the midfield, but he wastes it will a directionless long ranger. Minutes later Gelabert Pina gets medical attention after a clumsy clash with an England defender. From the following play, Foden earned a corner. A deflection.
21:10 pm: England start the second half well, testing the Spain defence couple of times.
Talking stats: Spain have 41% possession in the half, and got four attempts on the goal, all on target, with two goals. England have 15 attempts with four hits on target, and one goal.
First-half: England 1 - 2 Spain
20:51 pm: Two minutes added. England continue to probe the Spain defence in these dying first-half minutes. Then, a free kick to England just outside the D. Brewster is alone there, he will take it. Short run up, then Fernandez palms the ball over the bar. England end the half as they started it, by missing the chance.
20:48 pm: Superb cross from Sessegnon, then Brewster connects a header. England SCORE in the 44th minute. Brewster's seventh goal in three games.
20:46 pm: Even for a young teen, Foden seems to have two lungs. He's been running all over the Salt Lake Stadium. Then, Hudson-Odoi beats Fernandez, only to hit the near upright. What a chance. England are playing like possessed souls. Another good chance for England, but Fernandez's there for Spain.
20:43 pm: Brewster smashes the ball right into the face of Miranda, with the Spain defender falling flat. But the play goes on and from the far corner, a delivery arrives for Foden to slot home. But he finds himself late for the occasion, and he's left fuming.
20:40 pm: The difference in teamwork is telling. There are Spanish unmarked bodies in the England half, linking well, running in shape; then on the opposite, there are England players running, playing individual games. Moments ago, Ferran Torres almost scored the third goal. But his left-footed attempt failed to hit the target. He's been a busy boy on the right flank today. It's 38th minute into the match.
20:36 pm: Sergio Gomez SCORES again, in the 31st minute. A left-footed finish. And England are ripped open. Moments ago, after the restart, England were testing England defense. Then from a counter, Moha opened the England defence, then minus the ball for a waiting Gomez. Fourth goal for the Barcelona-born forward.
20:32 pm: Oakley-Boothe and Foden try to breach a rather tight looking Spain defence. England win a corner in the 27th minute. From the following play, Jonathan Panzo tries a long-rnager, which sailed over the bar. COOLING BREAK.
20:28 pm: Cesar Gelabert Pina, the 16-year-old Real Madrid product is running the show in the midfield.
20:25 pm: Hugo Guillamon concedes a needless free-kick, near the near corner with 20 mins on the clock. England, however, fail to make the most out of it, but Spain, in their counter, wasted the chance. Three England players against England goalie before the arrival of English defenders, and what... wasted chance.
20:22 pm: Hudson-Odoi just saved England from a mess. The Chelsea youngster wins the ball from just outside the England goal-mouth, then launches himself on an attack. But his minus fails to reach his intended target.
20:18 pm: Steven Sessegnon uses his physical strength to win the ball inside the England box, but the referee was keeping a close look at him. Free kick to Spain. 15 mins played.
20:16 pm: Manchester City starlet Philip Foden shows brilliant ball skills, but failed to make the most out of his mazy run. He ends up feigning, to earn a foul, near the ner corner. Pity.
20:14 pm: Brilliant defending from Spain. Then, Sergio Gomez SCORES from close range. Lucky, but that's what they need. Ball comes from an English head, a huge deflection. 10th minute on the clock and England players picked up the ball for the resstart.
20:10 pm: Spain get their first move of the final, from the right flank, but the cross from Guillamon lacks the punch. Easily taken by England goalie Anderson.
20: 07 pm: After a frenetic start to the final, both the sides have settled down and are looking for openings. But, it's still England in dominating position. We are into fifth minute.
20:05 pm: This is a different league. England almost, almost score inside the first couple of minutes. Brilliant save from Spain goalie.

18:14 pm: Then, Brazil score. GOAL!! What a mess. One poor midfield play from Mali, then a deflection beats Mali goalie. What he could do was watch the ball slowly crossing the line. Alan scores in 55th minute. Minutes ago, Brazil made the first sub of the match, Victor Bobsin replaced by Rodrigo Guth.
18:08 pm: Ibrahim Kane just misses a good chance to open the scoring. Unmarked, what he needed was to reach to the cross. What a start to the second half.
First half: Brazil 0 - 0 Mali
17:50 pm: Half-time. Brazil somehow manage to increase the possession game to 57 to Mali's 43, but the favourites trail in attempts. mali account for 10 of those with Brazil getting only two.

17:24 pm: Boubacar Haidara's curling freekick tests Brazilian goalie, Gabriel Brazao. It was followed by another long ranger, and it just missed the Brazil goal.
