Cristiano Ronaldo will miss the Premier League match of Manchester United with Liverpool on Tuesday (April 19), following the sad demise of his baby son who died on Monday (April 18).

In the club's official released statement, United confirmed that the Ronaldo will not play the Liverpool clash. " Family is more important than everything and Ronaldo is supporting his loved ones at this immensely difficult time. 



"As such, we can confirm that he will not feature in the match against Liverpool at Anfield on Tuesday evening and we underline the family's request for privacy,"


"Cristiano, we are all thinking of you and sending strength to the family." as quoted by Goal.com.



Ronaldo took on Instagram on Monday to announce the heartbreaking news. The couple, Ronaldo and Georgina Rodriguez were expecting twins and he revealed that the doctors could only save his baby girl during the delivery.


"Only the birth of our baby girl gives us the strength to live this moment with some hope and happiness," Ronaldo wrote on his Instagram.


Manchester United have announced that the striker will be taking leave for sometime to spend time with his family. 


Number of Premier League clubs including Manchester City, Liverpool, Leed United posted messages to the United forward following the sad news.


Ronaldo's former club Real Madrid also released a statement for Cristiano and his family sharing they are 'deeply saddened' by the news.
