The new health insurance scheme covers hospitalisation expenses of up to Rs 50,000. The scheme is extended to drivers accepting Paytm to receive fares, a company statement said.

The company has arranged a cashless health insurance policy with TATA AIG General Insurance for these drivers.

"Over three lakh drivers across India now accept payments by Paytm and we are seeing volumes grow steadily each month," Paytm Vice President Krishna Hegde said.

"By helping them get much-needed health insurance, we are acknowledging their services and strengthening our partnership," he added.
