New Delhi: A nine-year old orphan boy was found roaming aimlessly by local police on a deserted road in a remote village in northeast India.
According to a report in Daily Mail, the boy is believed to be a reincarnation of a Hindu God 'Ganesh' as he has a trunk-like nose.
He suffers from a rare condition known as frontonasal encephalocele which causes a small part of his brain to bulge out of his skull.
Because of this condition, the 9-year-old has developed slower than other children his age and is left with impaired speech and mental underdevelopment.
He is unable to talk, see properly or even eat because of his abnormal mass.
But local surgeons are hopeful that an operation will fix the defect and he will find a loving family after treatment.
With the help of the government, he was admitted to a state-run hospital and then transferred to Bangalore for advanced treatment, as per reports.
Since last week, Ganesh has been under observation of a team of six doctors at Narayana Multispeciality Hospital. The doctors are hoping to conduct a reconstructive surgery and to subside the swelling on him.
Medical experts believe that the boy would need a couple of surgeries to lead a normal life.
