New Delhi: Childhood obesity has become very common nowadays and there are many reasons for it.


One of the biggest reasons for the increasing rate of childhood obesity is sedentary lifestyle.


Besides this, unhealthy eating habits also leads to obesity. So, parents should feed their children home-cooked healthy meal as there’s nothing better than it.


Here are some tips for parents to help their kid fight childhood obesity:


Healthy eating habits


Parents should encourage their child to eat a healthy balanced diet consisting of plenty of vegetables, fruits, whole-grain products, dairy products. Children should also drink lots of water and limit their sugar-sweetened beverages intake.


Stay active


Parents should add some physical activities to their children's daily routine. They should exercise daily for atleast 60 minutes.


Avoid calorie-rich temptations


Limit your children from having high-fat and high-sugar or salty snacks as it can also help develop healthy eating habits.


Make favorite dishes healthier


Parents should try to make their kid's favorite dishes healthy by adding various tasty supplements to it.


Reduce sedentary time


Parents should limit their children's sedentary time like watching TV, playing video games and surfing Internet to not more than two hours daily. Rather, try involving your kids in various outdoor activities that will help them to remain fit.
