New Delhi: It's heart-wrenching to see children suffering from a life-threatening condition, especially when the problems just don't seem to end.

A toddler from Hampshire is going through a tough ordeal. After he survived a deadly brain tumour, his parents were relieved. But, it was far from over.

Merely 20 days after his surgery for brain tumour, little Freddie Hunt's stomach began to bloat. The surgery had triggered condition called hypothalamic obesity which causes him to gain weight at an alarming rate, and now threatens his life.

The condition caused Freddie to put on 19 kilos in just six months and as per a report in the Deccan Chronicle, may have been the result of an invasive procedure which removed 90 percent of a fist sized tumour from his brain that could have possibly damaged a nerve.

Freddie is blind in one eye and bound to a couch as the fat in his body has already begun to strain his liver and heart. His parents are desperate for a cure as they are willing to try even unlicensed drugs to save their child.

The nerve that was damaged during the surgery controls the body’s metabolism and this seems to be the reason behind the drastic weight gain that has left the child weighing almost 40 kilos at a very young age, the Deccan Chronicle reported.
