A healthy person normaly has 150,000 to 450,000 platelets every microlitre of blood. And platelets functions is to stop bleeding by clumping and clotting blood vessel injuries. But one can increase their platelet counts by simply eating healthy foods.

Here are some foods that will help in improving your platelet count:

Kiwi

This fruit helps in increasing your platelet level and also useful for those suffering from anemia, vitamin B deficiency and other viral infections. One should have two kiwis a daily to increase platelet counts.

Dragon fruit

Dragon fruit helps in improving platelet count in dengue patients because of its antioxidant properties.

Egg whites

Even egg whites helps in boosting your platelet count as they contain albumin which is a vital protein found in the blood plasma.

Milk and milk products

Milk and milk products helps in increasing the platelet count as they are a great sources of calcium.

Papaya leaves

One should drink papaya leaves water if they are suffering from malaria or dengue as it helps in boosting platelet counts because it contains enzymes like chymopapin and papain.

Green leafy vegetables

Include lots of leafy and dark green vegetables like lettuce and parsley, olive, soy bean, kale and broccoli in your daily diet as the calcium content is high in them along with vitamin K, which are the two important components for blood clotting.
