New Delhi: The Earth - our home planet - is witnessing a surge in violence due to hatred, enmity and wars among races and nations alike. This has not only destroyed the Earth and its mysterious beauty, but afflicted humankind both physically and mentally.
As per the World Health Organisation (WHO), war and disasters have a large impact on mental health and psychosocial well-being. Conflict and violence cause mental suffering as well as physical wounds.
On the occasion of World Mental Health Day, October 10, International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) tweeted out a heart-whelming video featuring young men in Nigeria as they struggle to cope with the loss of loved ones. Watch the video below!

In the above short footage, a young Nigerian man named Christopher Sunday, whose parents were killed in an attack, was quoted as saying: “Sometimes when I am sleeping I used to wake up and shout. And when I remember all those things my heart begins to break. My hands shake by themselves.”
Christopher, who lost both his parents on 14 July, 2014, said his parents were slaughtered on the same day. “They killed my father and my mother. They slaughtered them. When I heard that they killed my father, I just fainted.”
The ICRC has set up mental health and psychosocial support groups in north-eastern Nigeria to help people like Christopher.
