New Delhi: Eman Ahmed, once considered the 'world's heaviest woman', may not leave India for UAE for her further treatment on Monday due to holidays in both the countries.
As per reports, Eman's shifting from Mumbai's Saifee hospital to Abu Dhabi's Bhurjeel Hospital has been delayed by a day or two even as UAE doctors are in the process of choosing a chartered aircraft to transfer the 36-year-old Egyptian woman for her rehabilitation.
According to Dr Aprna Govil Bhaskar, section head, bariatric surgery, Saifee Hospital, experts from UAE are yet to submit the detail plans on when Eman will be shifted to doctors treating her at Saifee hospital.
The move to transfer Eman from Mumbai to Abu Dhabi came amidst spat between her kin and Saifee hospital's doctors, who discussed with her sister Shaimaa the possibility to discharge her, to which she disagreed.
Shaimaa also released a video on social media alleging that doctors treating Eman were lying about her weight loss and recovery.
Bariatric surgeon Dr Muffazal Lakdawala, who has been treating Eman since her arrival in Mumbai on February 11, said the Egyptian woman now weighs 176kg, calling her recovery a 'miracle'.
Dr Lakdawala, who refutted all allegations against him and the hospital, called the circumstances unfortunate, adding that he has treated Eman like his own baby.
On March 7, doctors led by Dr Lakdawala carried out a bariatric surgery on Eman, in which two- third of her stomach size has been reduced so as to lessen the food intake.
