BJP workers converged at the party headquarters in the national capital and got into celebration mode, dancing and distributing sweets.

Apart from party members, Prime Minister Narendra Modi also waved victory sign as he reached Parliament for Winter Session.

On the other hand, gloom descended on the Congress office in Ahmedabad, as the trends showed a comfortable majority for the BJP.

The cadres also celebrated the victory at party office in Shimla in Himachal Pradesh.

Meanwhile, the BJP accused the Congress of playing the caste card in Gujarat. Senior party leader GVL Narasimha Rao told Zee News that the increase in seats for the opposition party came because if divided the people of Gujarat on the basis of caste.

The Congress, however, maintained that it was the energetic leadership of new party president Rahul Gandhi and a constructive campaign in the run up to the elections that led to the increase in its seat share.
