Lok Sabha Election Counting Date Changed For Arunachal Pradesh And Sikkim To June 2
The general election for 543 Lok Sabha seats will be held in seven phases from April 19.
New Delhi: The Election Commission of India has changed the counting schedule of Arunachal Pradesh and Sikkim from June 4 to June 2. Earlier, the counting of votes for all the Lok Sabha constituencies was scheduled to be held on June 4.
The Election Commission announced the dates for the 2024 Lok Sabha Polls on Saturday. The general election for 543 Lok Sabha seats will be held in seven phases from April 19 and the counting will be held on June 4, however, after the latest announcement, the counting of votes for Arunachal Pradesh and Skkim will; be now held on June 2.
Election Commission's decision to move the date for counting of votes for Arunachal Pradesh and Sikkim comes as the term of the house of Legislative Assemblies of both states is scheduled to expire on June 2, 2024. Assembly polls in Arunachal Pradesh and Sikkim are scheduled for April 19.
