Earthquake In Noida: Massive Tremors Felt Across Delhi NCR, North India
Earthquake tremors were felt in Delhi, Noida, Ghaziabad, Faridabad and parts of north India around 2:50 pm on Tuesday. People rushed out of their homes in panic.
New Delhi: Earthquake tremors were felt in Delhi and parts of north India around 2:50 pm on Tuesday. The earthquake tremors in Delhi NCR and other parts of north India were felt for over 20 seconds. “Earthquake of Magnitude:6.2, Occurred on 03-10-2023, 14:51:04 IST, Lat: 29.39 & Long: 81.23, Depth: 5 Km ,Location:Nepal”, the National Center for Seismology posted on X. The National Centre for Seismology reported that the earthquake's epicenter in Nepal was situated at a latitude of 29.39 degrees north and a longitude of 81.23 degrees east.
Residents across the NCR region took to social media to share their experiences and express their concerns. Many posted photos and videos showing damaged structures, cracked walls, and shattered glass. Several people reported feeling the tremors even as far away as neighboring states.
Earthquake Tremors In Nepal
On Tuesday afternoon, a seismic event with a magnitude of 5.3 struck the western regions of Nepal, as reported by the National Seismological Centre of the country. Fortunately, there have been no reported casualties or property damage. The earthquake's epicenter was recorded in the Talkot area of Bajhang district, located 700 kilometers west of Kathmandu, at 2:40 p.m. The tremors were also felt in adjacent districts of Bhajang and in neighboring parts of India.
Two earthquakes of magnitude 6.2 and 4.6 on the Richter Scale struck Nepal on Tuesday, with tremors felt in large parts of India, the National Centre for Seismology (NCS) reported.
Delhi NCR Earthquake: People Panic
Residents rushed out of their homes in panic as the earthquake persisted for more than a minute. Union Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya also stepped out of Nirman Bhawan, along with others, as strong tremors hit different parts of north India.
There are reports that tremors were felt in Uttar Pradesh's Lucknow, Hapur, and Amroha as well. Parts of Uttarakhand also experienced tremors following the back-to-back earthquakes in Nepal.
