Srinagar: Six terrorists have been gunned down on Friday in an encounter with the security forces in Jammu and Kashmir's Anantnag district. The gunfight broke out in the district's Sekipora area of Bijbehara.

Arms and ammunition have been recovered from the incident spot. The gunbattle is underway.



On Thursday, terrorists attacked an army camp in Kulgam district following which a civilian was injured.


Two terrorists were also killed on November 18 in an encounter with Jammu and Kashmir Police and security forces in the state's Shopian district.


J&K police and security forces had jointly launched a cordon and search operation, based on a credible input about the presence of terrorists in Rebban area of Zainapora in Shopian.


Last week, three teens in the state were abducted by terrorists, two of whom were also killed. A video was released by Hizbul Mujahideen purportedly showing terrorists killing a youth, who was alleged to be an Army informer.


The video, which went viral on social media, showed terrorists pumping a volley of bullets into one of the kidnapped youths, whose body was later recovered.
