Encounter between security forces, terrorists in Shopian; 2 gunmen dead

Shopian: Two terrorists were shot dead in pre-dawn encounter between terrorists and security forces in Jammu and Kashmir's Hind Sita Pora area of Shopian district on Sunday.

The two terrorists killed belonged to LeT and were residents of Kulgam district. A police official identified the slain as Aadil Bashir Wani, resident of Waripora and Javaid Ahmad Bhat, resident of Redwani Qaimoh - both in Kulgam.

Weapons and a huge cache of ammunition have been recovered from the spot. Internet servies were snapped in Kulgam as a precautionary measure.

Security forces launched a cordon and search operation the area following specific information about the presence of militants there, an army official said.

Last week, three terrorists were killed in Shopian after a brief exchange of fire between terrorists and security forces in Shopian.
