Indrani opposed to Mekhail getting Sheena`s share of property
Indrani Mukerjea, accused in the Sheena Bora murder case, today told the special CBI court here that she would oppose her estranged son Mekhail`s claim on Sheena`s share of ancestral property.
Mumbai: Indrani Mukerjea, accused in the Sheena Bora murder case, today told the special CBI court here that she would oppose her estranged son Mekhail's claim on Sheena's share of ancestral property.
Mekhail Bora has moved the Guwahati district court, seeking probate (verification by court) of the will of his grandmother, Indrani told the court in Mumbai today.
The Guwahati court directed that if Indrani, who is lodged in a prison here, had any objections she should submit them in person or through a lawyer.
Indrani, who was present before the special court here, told the judge that she planned to object to Mekhail's claim on Sheena's share of grandmother's property.
Her (Indrani's) mother had nowhere said that in the event of Sheena's death her share will go to Mekhail, Indrani said.
Indrani's mother Durgaranee died in October 2015. In her will dated April 30, 2012, she had bequeathed a piece of land, a two-storied house and two other structures in Guwahati to Sheena and her brother Mekhail.
Mekhail's application said the 2012 will revoked a will made in 2009, and gave a major chunk of assets to him.
Indrani and her former husband Sanjeev Khanna were arrested in 2015 for the murder of Sheena (24), her daughter from earlier relationship, in April 2012. Indrani's husband and former media baron Peter Mukerjea was arrested later for being part of the conspiracy.
