New Delhi: Two terrorists have been gunned down in an encounter with security forces in Jammu and Kashmir's Sopore district.

According to early information, the two militants were part of the Hizbul Mujahideen. Forces recovered AK-47 rifle from their possesion but the terrorists' identities were yet to be identified.


Earlier in the day, after receiving specific intelligence inputs about the presence of terrorists, security forces had launched a cordon-and-search operation. 



Yesterday, the Pakistan Army resorted to unprovoked firing of small and heavy arms in Amrodin, Chatkadi and Sadipora in Karnah of Jammu and Kashmir's Kupwara district. Before this, Pakistan violated ceasefire in the Krishna Ghati sector of Jammu and Kashmir along the Line of Control (LoC).


The Pakistan Army also violated ceasefire in the Mankot sector area along the LoC of Poonch on Sunday.
