  • The entry of all foreign tourists in Kashmir has been banned as a precautionary measure amid coronavirus outbreak. District Magistrate, Srinagar, Dr Shahid Iqbal Choudhary gave this information and said, "Entry of all foreign tourists in Kashmir has been banned as a precautionary measure."

  • The price of platform tickets in five Karnataka railway stations has been increased to Rs 50 from Rs 10 effective from March 18 to limit the movement of people on platforms. The five stations are--KSR Bengaluru, Bengaluru Cantonment, Yesvantpur, Yelahanka and Krishnarajapuram Railway Stations. The hike will remain in effect till March 31.

  • IndiGo announced on Tuesday that as aviation regulator DGCA has restricted international traffic from Turkey and Malaysia, it will be cancelling its flights on Delhi-Istanbul route and Chennai-Kuala Lumpur route from March 18 to March 31. "These are purely temporary and precautionary measures. We understand that these measures will cause inconvenience to our customers and we will be refunding the full amount to the impacted passengers," the airline stated in a press release. The airline has already cancelled flights between Bangalore-Kuala Lumpur until March 31, 2020, and Delhi-Kuala Lumpur until April 30, 2020.

  • South Eastern Railway decided to cancel as many as nine trains due to low occupancy in view of the coronavirus epidemic, said a statement. The statement said, "Due to poor patronization for the cause of coronavirus precaution, it has been decided to cancel the following trains as per the schedule stated under." 

  • To prevent the spread of Coronavirus disease, the Delhi Police has made a fervent appeal to the public not to assemble at any place for protest, dharna, rally, entertainment or any other purpose, whether in close space or outside till March 31, 2020. An order to this effect is being issued. It added that it will not issue any No Objection Certificate or permission with respect to such gatherings. No license/permission will be issued for public entertainment activities. All members of the public are appealed to cooperate in containing the spread of the virus.

  • In a bid to curb profiteering, the government has issued an ultimatum to companies manufacturing and importing protective and surgery masks, gloves, sanitizers. It has asked them to provide cost, sales and rest of the details within 24 hours failing which will lead to fines and legal action.

  • The Sri Lanka government has decided to suspend all flights arriving in the country with effect from March 18 midnight for a period of two weeks. It has also announced the continuous search for persons who arrived in Sri Lanka from high-risk countries and are not in quarantine, through public awareness. Essential services, economic and trade activities will continue without disrupting the daily lives of the public. Speedy action will be taken against those who spread fake news and incite or instill undue fear in public. It also asked the people to minimize social gatherings, celebrations, large-scale meetings etc. Arrangements have been made to evacuate 300 pilgrims currently touring in India.

  • The price of platform tickets have been raised to Rs 50 from Rs 10 for 12 stations in Bihar and will come into effect from March 19 midnight. The stations are--Patna, Danapur, Pataliputra, Rajendra Nagar, Patna Sahib, Bakhtiarpur, Barh, Arrah, Mokama, Jehanabad, Bihar Sharif, and Rajgir. The rest of the stations will sell platform tickets at the rate of Rs 10.
